On Friday 2 July, the PJI Foundation hosted a Charity Padel Tournament with all proceeds going towards Clubhouse Gibraltar.
The event was attended by a number of Gibraltar companies and firms, with a total of 25 teams entering the tournament. The winning team, Capurro Marina, comprised of Richard Felipes and Amos Federico, who defeated Mansion in the final comprising of Jose Fenoy and Alfonso Marin (with a winning score of 3-6, 6-4, and 10-7). After the highly contested final of the highest standard a delicious paella lunch was served as celebrations continued on into the afternoon.
A total of £3,000 was raised for our local mental health charity, Clubhouse Gibraltar. Clubhouse works tirelessly within the local community to assist those suffering from mental health issues and the PJI Foundation is delighted to have raised money for them.
We would also like to thank Mansion for sharing the costs for the event with us and to BetVictor for their generous donation and of course, to all the teams who participated.
Peter Isola and Genevieve Bossino-Soussi, Trustees of the PJI Foundation commented: “We are delighted to have hosted such an enjoyable event, and to have raised a substantial amount of money for such an important local charity. Our sincere thanks to all who attended and we very much expect this to become one of a number of annual fund-raising events the Foundation proposes to undertake.” If you are interested in joining us next year please contact Genevieve on genevieve.bossino@isolas.gi.
